Roy Mansfield  

21 July 1934 – 24 October 2024

We are sorry to announce the recent death of Roy Mansfield, one of Ware Town Twinning Association Vice-Presidents

Roy had been a stalwart member of Town Twinning for over 50 years since Ware originally twinned with the town of Wulfrath in what was then West Germany.  With his wife, Irene, they drove to Wulfrath each year to work on our stall   at the Christmas Market, Weihnachtsmarkt.  They hosted visitors from Wulfrath and were involved in all events.  Irene sadly passed away about 30 years ago, but, undaunted, Roy continued to work with Town Twinning, subsequently with his companion, Rosemary.  They made many friends in Wulfrath, with whom they kept in touch even after his ill health prevented Roy from being actively involved. 

He will be greatly missed.
